update coming at 11am Yes D8-9 0z Euro shows MECS THEN pattern collapses

Hello from N ashburn VA... just 4 .25 miles from Lessburg airport ... yes folks I have seen the op 0z Thurs ecmwf and its MECL-- miller B ( major east coast low) which for some could be a snowstorm especially over interior N Mid Atlantic and New England... whatbis very impressive is the 1044 MB high that Necks east of the Great lakes and gives off clear CCAD signature ..

more later getting caught up with paying clients... i saw yesterday that one of my competitors in Happy Valley PA... wich was pushign the New Orelans Nantucket track from 11/26 FINALLY gave up on the siliness ... of course to over compensate for this busted frorecast and wish coast he then went extreme the OTHER way... calling the Midwest Low now developing over ARK will be one of the biggest if not the biggest pre xmas Midwest snowstorms ever..

NOT....

southside chicagao will see best snow as well as SW chicago over towards La Salle and Quincy and St Louis... wet ground and warm temps do not make for HUGE massive snowstorm totals.... i saw one weenie over at eastern issue a professional map calling for a stripe of like 10-20 inches for Chicago... Come on folks Get a fooking clue

after the dec 8 -9 event the +Pna will breakdown.... for a while.

I think there will be 2 feet of snow in some places because it looks like the storm is increasing in intensity yet still and might last longer than forecasted by most. Enjoy readin the blog but I think you will bust this time predicting less than 10" of snow!

DT, great call and sticking to your guns on calling for midwest snowstorm while others were screaming for further east solutions.

Looking for your update in regards to the potential for next week's eastern snowstorm. The north central mountains of WV sure could use some white stuff.

I'll admit I am a JB fan and read his stuff daily.. but I also have been stopping in here now that I found the blog. It was painfully obvious who was going to win the debate on the storm track. It won't cause me to stop listening to JB...but is nice to have another intelligent forecast so I can decide for myself.

    Dave,

You might want to only allow replies here if people can log in. It would give you more control and disallow hit and runs by anonymous posters. Not sure what you are using for this blog, so it might not be possible. Just a thought. Keep the updates coming.

I've often wondered why most of the fanatical loyal fans of JB are often the most inactive incompetent worst type of weather lovers. I think the rational explanation for this form of mental delusion is that most of the JB fanatics are in the East Coast or the Northeast and his atrocious bias towards Northeast causes a fanatical following. In the end it really does NOT make any difference about how poorly his forecasts turn out to be.

I got this one particular entry on my Thursday morning Post which I'm highlighting here.

Let's get a couple of things straight ...pointing out that the track that JB was calling for on Sunday going (from New Orleans towards Nantucket) and comparing it to the reasonable track which I proposed is not really bashing JB. It just a simple comparison of statement of facts / forecasts that were made. if you consider that to be JB bashing ...will let's face it you're MORON. The guy has a serious East Coast bias problem and I don't think its wrong to point it out . Second I was the one who is banging the drum for the Midwest track from last Sunday and I held the track even when they were many comments me about the shift on some models in midday Tuesday runs. In that instance I had the wherewithal to not change the forecast based upon the midday Tuesday model runs and that turned out to be the correct solution.

I have also given specific reasons why I do not see a huge snowfall across portions of Northeast Missouri and West Central and only towards Chicago metro-area. I think my objections to forecasting that much snow are reasonable. It doesn't make me correct but does not make me an idiot and it doesn't make me unreasonable. An awful lot of rain has fallen before the change over to snow and given how warm the ground temperatures have been I just don't think with all this water laying on the ground you are going to see that much snow from this rather fast-moving low-pressure area. I just don't see it.

Either way making this forecast on the 26th for event which is now underway-- five days later-- and being off on the snow track by let's say by 50 or 75 miles is a pretty damn good forecast when you compare it to what the forecast the JB fanatics fell in love with on the 26th of November.

That was the clearest, most informative, level head reply I've ever read from DT to date. Not that I didn't laugh at some of the things DT would call the idiots that would taunt him in the past. Thanks for the time you put into this blog. I would really question myself of the time given, when the stupid come here still attack you. Some of us do enjoy reading your thoughts.

Yes, JB favors the Northeast, I dont think that's in doubt. A. He lives there, B. Most of his clients live there and C. the I95 corridor is a huge population center, so he goes where the money is!!! He busted on this track yes, you got it right, you busted on Blizzard of 06, he didnt, you win some, you lose some... And, when was the last time you were on CNBC or CNN????? (IE, JB can't be that bad if the media outlets seek him out...)

JB doesnt bash you in his daily column, why even go there?

so that means that IF you get media attention you are a GREAT?

so I guess Brintey Spears is really Jesus Christ...

what about Matt Drudge who last on the front page of His web site crapped all over JB and accu weather wrt their Hurricane forecast ?

again what is it with JB fans -- NOT JB -- that makes them this obtuse?

and for the record I busted on the blizzard of 2006? I first talked about that event feb 1-- 3 days before anyine else did...

So Britney Spears sells millions of records and media outlets seak her out. I guess that makes her the most talented singer/performer out there, no?

umm. yes, you busted...you called for 0-2, I got 22.

Yes, media attention is everything in this country, sad but true...take a poll JB vs DT on name recognition....

oh.... NOW I know who you are from eastern... You are one of the idiots trolls that the mods at eastern protect... you that guy who lies about his snow totals all the time.

You know SAYING that I busted on the feb 2006 blizzard is NOT the same thing as PROVING I busted ... unelss you subscribe to the George Constanza view of reality

of course if you were serious you simply Link my snowfall maps WHICH ARE STILL ON LINE FROM 2005-06 to your location and prove to all that I did bust.

But since you are a JB fan and therefore most likely a blithering idiot I wont ask you to do that.

Your point about Media and JV vs DT name recognition is silly.

Accu wx has been around since 1972 ... and I have been around since 1999

accu wx has HUNDREDS of employee and spend tens of Millions on adversiting.

    I NEVER have

It speaks volumes that a JB fanantic like you could make such a silly irrational comparison.
